Staffordshire Women’s Aid is a grassroots, local charity notably operating for over 40 years. The charity supports women and children escaping and equally recovering from the impacts of domestic and sexual violence and abuse.

A key element of their work is helping women and children recover and build new lives. Subsequently enabling them to live a life free from abuse.

Their services include:

• Safe refuge accommodation

• Community outreach support

• Campaigning

• Raising awareness

• Train communities on domestic and sexual violence and related issues

• Support availability 24 hours a day / 365 days a year

Their vision is to create communities where domestic and sexual violence is consequently no longer tolerated.

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the charity suffered markedly by the cancellation of fundraising events and activities.

However, the demand for their services increased.

Thanks to a nomination from Puzzle Digest reader Mr Kevin O’Beney Staffordshire Women’s Aid gained a much needed financial boost to their cause.
